How We Use Cookies
Calcradar uses a minimal set of cookies. We do not use cookies to track your personal identity, and we do not use advertising or retargeting cookies of any kind.
Essential Cookies
What are essential cookies?
Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. Without them, the site would not work correctly. They cannot be disabled.
What essential cookies do we use?
- __Host-next-auth.csrf-token — Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks. Session cookie.
- __Secure-next-auth.callback-url — Stores the URL to redirect to after sign-in (if applicable). Session cookie.
- next-locale — Remembers your language preference. Persistent, 1 year.
What data is collected?
Essential cookies do not collect personally identifiable information. They store only technical values needed for the site to function correctly.
Analytics Cookies
What are analytics cookies?
Analytics cookies (also called performance or statistical cookies) help us understand how visitors interact with our site. They tell us which pages are most popular, how long people spend on each page, and whether users encounter errors. This helps us improve the site.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymised usage statistics. Google Analytics sets the following cookies:
- _ga — Distinguishes unique users. Persistent, 2 years.
- _ga_* — Stores session state. Persistent, 2 years.
- _gid — Distinguishes unique users. Persistent, 24 hours.
We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled. We do not allow Google to use our analytics data for advertising purposes. Google may process data on servers in the United States; this is covered by standard contractual clauses.
What data is collected?
Analytics cookies collect anonymised information such as: pages visited, time spent on pages, approximate location (country level), browser and device type, and whether you are a new or returning visitor. No personally identifiable information is collected.
How long is data retained?
Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for a maximum of 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
No Advertising Cookies
Calcradar does not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or any third-party marketing trackers. We do not build profiles of your interests for advertising purposes, and we do not share your browsing data with ad networks.
Local Storage
In addition to cookies, we may use browser local storage to save small amounts of data on your device. Local storage works similarly to cookies but the data is never automatically sent to our servers.
Why do we use local storage?
- To remember UI preferences (e.g., your last-used unit system in a calculator) between visits.
- To improve the speed of the site by caching lightweight data locally.
How to clear local storage
You can delete local storage data at any time through your browser settings. In most browsers, this is found under Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear browsing data → check “Cached images and files” or “Site data”.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page whenever we make changes.
